Fallout

There is fallout everywhere. I can barely keep up. I’m plugging one leak and another leak has sprung.

Not even a round of “these are a few of my favorite things” can cheer me up. I wish. If only life could be that simple. Although the Von Trapps didn’t exactly have it easy, did they? What with fleeing the Nazis and having to wear curtains for clothes.

Don’t mind me. It’s been a bad day. I should be sleeping. That no bounced off the walls, landed, and wreaked havoc.

Fallout shmallout.

I’ll get to cheerier things. I won’t become that blog – the blog of bleak and dark where I’m lamenting everything. But, for now, for right now, it is what it is.

I hope you don’t also become that blog that eschews bleak and dark…the mixture of *true* life is what makes it great, you know.

Well, I don’t want to say anything to make it worse, so I will say I’m sorry. And thank goodness for the coming new year. As long as it brings with it chocolate and sunshine. What am I saying? I live in SEATTLE.

i’m sorry heidi for the yucky you’re navigating. you don’t have to fix every leak though. others have to take responsibility for their own responses and reactions even if they don’t want to or don’t like it. it’s your right to say no. it’s their challenge to deal with it. (sorry if this sounds preachy. i hope it doesn’t. if it doesn, i’m sorry. 🙂

LMN, We tend to share the same weather system. Are you guys getting snow like crazy too? Chocolate and sunshine sound nice….

dawn, no. not preachy at all! In fact, you are right. That’s what I’m trying to do – let go of something that is really out of my control… thanks. 🙂

Sometimes I really LOVE the word “no” it empowers , I learned it way back in the day when asked to babysit naughty children “NO” or when some douche asked me to go to the movies with his hand on my butt “NO” Or when somebody wanted to use me as a doormat- again “NO” so I hope that your “NO” empowers you, hold fast and know that you are loved- again I adore thee!!!!

Like Lisa said, we’re here through it all. Know you’re not alone and I hope this storm passes soon. Fixing leaks is the worst.

(Metaphorically speaking of course. I’ve never fixed a real one in my life.)

I hope it gets better quick. Thanks for all your encouragement, it’s kind of an odd time. Merry Christmas.

lisa, that made me laugh. And thank you.

linda sue, I felt that comment. Thank you.

dorkys, fixing leaks, metaphorically of course ;), can sometimes be a colossal waste of time as I am quickly discovering. (I wouldn’t know much about fixing any in real life either.) And thank you for your kind comment.

    amisare, it’s getting there.
I know your Christmas isn’t what you expected, but I hope it’s a good Christmas for you and your family.
