You know that state in a dream where you’re in it, but not in it? Where the edges are blurred? You’re drifting between the otherworldly and whatever it is that binds you to the earth? Where you can make out color but not what the color belongs to? Something is going on, something that feels like a story with a plot and character development and you’re anticipating the next move? Where you float above your body? You’re not truly present and, damn, you wish you were? It is at your fingertips, but you can’t curl your fingers around it yet?

The edges of my life are blurry, but as I get closer I know it will get sharper and come into focus. And I’ll be able to see it for what it is, what it was, and what it will be.

Swept Up

In Details in the Fabric by Jason Mraz feat. James Morrison
The lyrics to this are beautiful. You can listen to the song here. It isn’t the best link. You need to scroll down a bit and click on the song. I tried looking for others. I’m sure they’re out there. I am really, really not computer savvy. Anyway, give the song a listen. It’s lovely.

I was just talking to my husband about dreams earlier this evening…Although it was more about ghosts…but that’s what we get for watching Ghost Hunters.

I really like Jason Mraz–but I LOVE James Morrison. He is probably my favorite singer/songwriter of the past 20 years.

His new album is beautiful. Especially “If You Don’t Wanna Love Me”…”Love is Hard” and the best wedding song…”You make it real.”

And the quintessential James M. song and music “Save Yourself.”

Thank you for posting this song. I hadn’t heard it before even though I really like Jason 🙂

It really is a beautiful, soothing song for the soul.

    Everything will be fine
Everything in no time at all
    Hearts will hold

LOVE this song Heidi. And I see why you’re especially relating to it right now. Great intro too as I was not familiar with Jason Mraz but I listened to a few tracks and really like what I heard. I then saw that he’s gigging in my city next Tuesday so have just bought tickets… New song, new artist and a gig to look forward to. Your post was even more of a gift than usual – so an extra thank you! I will carry you with me…

Love. Love. Love Jason Mraz. He going to be a legend. LIke Cat Stevens or David Cassidy (just kidding about DC).

Your description reminds me of those times between deep sleep and waking where you are aware of your body, but not totally, and it feels very far away, and almost as if you are separated from it, and there is no sense of relativity. I actually love those times. Embrace the blur. The white space. The empty. There is peace to be found there (in my humble opinion).

SO SO glad you had a great weekend in Seattle – wasn’t the weather LOVELY! And tell your hubs I am with him – Lola is my favorite, too! But you’re right that when it comes to pizza, Serious Pie is at the tops. I love that place. It is only two blocks from my work. Dangerous.

    🙂 Happy Monday, Heidi.
